The D-65VA has solid sitka spruce top and rosewood sides and back. Sonorous and bold, loud and clear, great playability and a classic look. The vintage aged top and herringbone purfling hark back to the first versions of this classic model giving this model a very distinct look. The rosewood back and sides are what makes this guitar so sonorous and clear sounding. The volume is higher than with its mahogany counterpart, the D-40. The low end is much bolder, the high frequencies are thicker and clearer with a lot of body.
